Three-dimensional Ln(III)-Mn(II) metal organic frameworks constructed from Rod-shaped molecular building blocks: Syntheses, structures and magnetic properties

摘要
The hydrothermal reaction of Ln(III) nitrate, Mn(II) sulfate hydrate with 5-nitroisophthalic acid (H2NIPH) produced two novel metal organic frameworks (MOFs), [Ln(2)Mn(NIPH)(4)(H2O)(4)]center dot 6H(2)O [Ln = Eu (1), Nd (2)], which represent the first examples of three-dimensional Ln(III)-Mn(II) heterometallic MOFs based on rod-shaped molecular building blocks (MBBs). In the structures, two LnO(9) polyhedra and one MnO6 polyhedron are bridged in a corner-sharing fashion to form a trinuclear unit [Ln(2)MnO(20)], which is further connected to each other by carboxylate groups to give a [Eu2MnO20]-(O-C-O)(2)-[Eu2MnO20] heterometallic rod. The thermal properties and magnetic properties of 1 and 2 have been investigated in the solid state. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
