摘要
Dermatophytosis caused by Trychophyton mentagrophytes is a zoonotic disease that should be considered in the differential diagnosis when animals are examined because of focal dermatitis and alopecia. Cleaning and application of topical antifungal agents may hasten resolution of dermatophytosis caused by T mentagrophytes in hyenas. Animals housed outdoors are potentially exposed to wild rodents that may be reservoirs for pathogenic organisms, including T mentagrophytes.
