This first part of the monographic revision of the genus Naarda Walker (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) includes the general description of the genus, and descriptions of 28 new species from the eastern and southeastern Asia in the Oriental region. The genera Gynaephila Staudinger and Naarda are brought into synonymy, and Chusarispurpurisigna Holloway is transferred to Naarda making a new combination.
