Effect of free radical capturers on tree initiation voltage in polyethylene

According to the mechanism of tree formation,the proper free radical capturers are blended into polyethylene, and, at different temperatures the tree initiation voltages of polyethylene with and without free radical capturers are measured. It is shown by the experimental results that the free radical capturers are excellent voltage stabilizers; the ability of free radical capturers to inhibit the treeing are increased with the increasing of the temperature, and at the working temperature of the cable insulation, the tree initiation voltage increased by 96%.
