Over the last 12 years, impressive progress has been made in characterizing the high temperature superconducting phenomenon and in discovering trends about its occurrence. ks a result, many models have been advanced tol account for the observations. In this presentation, I would like to discuss a few issues that may be important to the understanding of high temperature superconductivity but have not yet been given the attention they deserve in the development of theoretical models.
