摘要
Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is an adaptive decomposition method developed recently in non-stationary signal processing field. But one of the major drawbacks of the EMD is that, when high frequency components in a signal contain intermittence, the result of EMD appears mode-mixing in time domain. The paper discusses a modified mode-mixing resistant EMD method: frequency heterodyne method. The principle and the operating steps of the method are studied in detail. The simulation and application in a backlash nonlinearity system shows that the method can successfully solve the mode-mixing problem in normal EMD method.
