The data obtained as a result of dynamic tests of sand -lime brick samples were used to estimate its energy intensity. The experiments were carried out according the Kolsky method using a split Hopkinson bar. The graphs of the specific energy absorption of sand -lime brick were obtained at different deformation rates as a result of the numerical integration of dynamic deformation diagrams. In addition, dependences characterizing the growth of energy characteristics with an increase of the strain rate are plotted. Comparison of the studied properties of sand -lime brick with same properties of other brittle media is carried out.
