Cerebral ischaemia is a serious complication of tuberculous meningitis (TBM) with the anterior circulation most commonly affected. Acute syringomyelia is a very rare complication of TBM. Here, we report an unusual presentation of TBM with a third nerve palsy as a result of posterior circulation stroke as well as a syringomyelia. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
