Bragg grating magnetic photonic crystal waveguides

摘要
Planar ridge waveguide magnetic photonic crystals are demonstrated. A single-defect photonic band-gap structure, fabricated on (Bi, Lu)(3)Fe5O12 films by focused ion beam patterning, exhibits photonic band gaps, resonant transmission, and resonant Faraday rotation in the wavelength range from 1480 nm to 1580 nm. A stop band triplet is found. The effects of linear birefringence and modal multiplicity on the optical response of the photonic structure are discussed. (c) 2005 American Institute of Physics.
