On the melting temperature of nanoparticles

摘要
A theoretical explanation is offered for the possibility of melting a nanoparticle at a higher temperature as compared to the melting temperature of a macroscopic sample of the same chemical composition. The special attention is focused on the analogy between the temperature range Delta T-m of melting of nanoparticles and the softening range for glasses.
