摘要
Sustainable buildings with minimum energy consumption and with less negative impact to environment becomes an important goal of public and private organization all over the world. On the other hand, energy cost has a high contribution with the building Life Cycle Cost (LCC) for the owners. Subsequently, reducing energy consumption by selecting the best design options during the initial stages of any residential project is one of the key factors to that issue. The target of the proposed framework is to find the optimal design that gives a minimum life cycle cost over the building life span. The integration between Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to reach the near-optimal solution. BIM is the simulation tool to generate the building design and dynamically analysis for the energy consumption of the house. The role of GA is to reach the solution by setting the effective variables and use a measurable objective function with proper constraints. The proposed model automatically identifies the most suitable house components to reach the minimum LCC during the design stage. Parametric programming language is used to facilitate interoperability between BIM and the other components of the model.
