摘要
The recent advances in wireless communication and sensing attract many researchers towards Wireless Sensor Networks. Existing single hop methods fail to handle collision problem effectively. In our work we implemented a multichannel MAC protocol which handles collision problem using cyclic quorum systems. The advantages of this method is that as multichannel are available, any node can negotiate for the channel on different channels simultaneously. In addition to that no data packet collides with control packet and vice versa. Simulations are done using NS2 and effect of varying transmission distance on throughput, packet delivery ratio, end to end delay and protocol energy consumption are analysed. By reducing collision probability, network performance can be enhanced.
