摘要：

this paper presents theoretical and experimental research concerning the use of microwaves in reconditioning of the patrimony objects, materials and books, based on the experience of the authors in the field of microwave technologies and on the original ideas and research activity during the elaboration and finalization of the PhD thesis; the authors have designed and built an experimental command and control device of a microwave installation and, in collaboration with reconditioning specialists of the Bihor County Library, they carried out research activities concerning the effects of the specialized chemical agents alone and in combination with microwaves upon the books to be reconditioned; there are some specialized businesses that restore books, but they refer only to resewing, binding, hinge repairs, covers etc, with no indications about the paper itself.
