Decreased Neutralization of Omicron Subvariants In a small study involving 54 participants, omicron subvariants BA.2.12.1, BA.4, and BA.5 of SARS-CoV-2 were more likely to escape neutralizing antibodies induced by both vaccination and previous infection than were the prior omicron subvariants BA.1 and BA.2.
