摘要：

The convergent close-coupling method is applied to the calculation of 10 to 55 eV electron-impact 4(1)P excitation of the calcium ground state. The results are compared with experiment and other theories. Though the overall agreement may be considered satisfactory there are some minor outstanding discrepancies that would benefit from further consideration, both theoretically and experimentally.
