NQR Study of AlBr3 Complexes with Dimethylsulfide

摘要
Br-81-Al-27 SEDOR as well as Br-81 NQR spectroscopy have been applied to the molecular complexes of AlBr3 with (CH3)(2)S. The formation of two kinds of complex compounds, [(CH3)(2)S](2)AlBr3 and [(CH3)(2)S]AlBr3, has been recognized. The compound [(CH3)(2)S](2)AlBr3 is a solid at ambient temperature, while the compound [(CH3)(2)S]AlBr3 is a liquid with a melting point of 287 K. The crystalline state of [(CH3)(2)S]AlBr3 shows a complex polymorphism consisting of Forms 1, 2 and 3 in which conformation isomers of [(CH3)(2)S]AlBr3 seem to exist. The structures of the complex compounds are discussed together with the results of ab initio MO calculations.
