Long-term outlook of bioetanol production in the Czech Republic

Blending of bioethanol has started in the Czech Republic since 2008. At the present in contrast with other Member States of EU production, distributions and sales of bioethanol are not supported anyhow in the Czech Republic which harms home bioethanol industry. It's expected that new programme for supporting high percentage mixture (E85 and E95) should come into effect by 2009. Production of bioethanol doesn't constitute any threat from the food safety point of view in the Czech Republic because to fulfill engagement in share of 5,57% biofuels in 2010 it is necessary to grow grains and sugar beet on area of 72 000 ha which represents only 1,6% from total agriculture land in the Czech Republic. Moreover it's necessary to realize that in the process of bioethanol production by-products to realize that in the process of bioethanol we can obtain 0.5-1.0 kg of by-products - pellets or extracted grains). Every Czech important ethanol producer is member of Union of distilleries of the Czech Republic. Among the main Czech bioethanol producers belongs company Agroetanol TTD (distillery Dobrovice) which has been producing bioethanol since 2006 from sugar beet.
