摘要
The vegetation dynamic change may provide vital information for ecological environmental protection and early warning of ecosystem degradation especially for the semiarid regions. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) can reveal the coverage growth condition, biomass and photosynthesis intensity of vegetation and land cover changes. The discrete wavelet multi-resolution analysis can decompose NDVI time series into subseries at different time scales. In this study, the information related to seasonal and inter-annual variability of vegetation in Baicheng city, China was extracted from SPOT Vegetation NDVI images using the wavelet multi-resolution analysis. The wavelet detail reconstruction information (d4) mainly reflected the seasonal changes, while the component d6 revealed the trend of inter-annual variation of vegetation.
