Study of Contemporary College Students' Gratitude Education

Gratitude education is an important part of ideological and political education. It is of great significance and function, especially at present, for the strengthening of college students' moral education. This paper defines the concept of gratitude, analyzes the current situation of contemporary college students' gratitude education, elaborates on the importance of gratitude education for college students, and at the same time puts forward the countermeasure and suggestion on how to carry out gratitude education on the way of ideological and political education. In 2004, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued" Opinion on Further Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Education" which emphasizes that college students are very precious human resources and are the hope of the nation and the future of our motherland. As an important part of ideological and political education, gratitude education plays a great and far-reaching strategic role in fully implementing the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resource development and that of develop the country through science and education, ensuring that our country remains invincible in the fierce international competition, making sure the realization of moderately prosperous society in all aspects, speeding up socialist modernization, and guaranteeing that the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics is flourishing and has qualified successors.
