摘要
Objectives. - The infectious risk in French nursing homes is important. Indeed, residents live in a confined institutional environment and are particularly susceptible to infections. Investigation in France. - The first French-wide prevalence study highlighted an overall prevalence rate of infections of 9.86% (all types of infections registered, the predominant infections were upper and lower respiratory tract infections). Prevention. - Epidemiological surveillance and development of infections control recommendations applied to these settings are necessary for the prevention of these infections. However, it would also be interesting to know the preventable proportion of these infections. (c) 2008 Elsevier Masson SAS.
