摘要
The metro is a type of urban infrastructure that has the potential to integrate a network of public spaces and built-up fabric in the city. This is explored in the Santiago Metro, taking line 3 as a case study. With the morphological analysis of the stations' surroundings, the initial urban proposal for this system is contrasted with its current design guidelines. This describes ways n which Santiago ha grown and the strategies used for the metro's insertion, which reveals the current preference for the confinement and autonomy of the network.
