IMPROVING CONGESTION CONTROL IN WSN BY MULTIPATH ROUTING WITH PRIORITY BASED SCHEDULING

摘要
A Wireless Sensor Network is an assortment of nodes organized into a cooperative network. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are subjected to node failures because of energy constraints; also nodes can be added to or removed from the network upon application demands, leading to unpredictable topology changes. Bursty traffic resulted from the detected events will simply cause congestion within the networks, especially in high rate applications. Congestion might occur at a sensor which causes energy waste, throughput, reliability and packet loss. The packets are scheduled by scheduling unit and based upon the priority number the data packet is send from the source to the destination. The packet scheduling algorithm provides an efficient scheduling rate to prevent the packet loss at each flow. By controlling the scheduling rate congestion prevention in the Network is possible. Through NS2 simulation, we evaluate and study the performance of the congestion control protocol and compare it with other protocols. Simulation results show that the protocol achieves less packet drops, throughput, lower average delay and reliability than other protocols.
