摘要
Some of the salient features of nanocomposite research relating with the development and application of useful dielectrics have been introduced. Nanocomposites technology as of present is about layered-silicate elastomer prepared by cation exchange. Nanocomposites is defined as a material made of a small proportion, typically of the order of 5% by mass, of nanofiller within a host material. On the one hand, nanodielectric or nanometric dielectric is a nanocomposite of specific interest in connection with its dielectric properties. While there are so much potential with the introduction of nanodielectrics, it is safe to accept the fact that there are still much to understand. Certain aspects of its dielectric behavior, electrical erosion and dielectric spectroscopic characteristics are well understood but the physics behind its charge dynamics and electrical breakdown are yet to be explored.
