摘要
This article is focused on the separation of biodiesel from glycerol using membrane technology; it addresses the polymeric and inorganic membrane used for the separation of biodiesel as well as the development of the membrane reactor for the separation of biodiesel. The modified membrane reactor could enhance the chemical and physical properties of the membrane, boosting the separation quality while reducing cost. The energy requirement has increased due to an increase in the population. Natural energy resources are not sufficient to meet the requirements of an increase in population. Thus, it is imperative to look at alternative energy sources such as biodiesel. Biodiesel is biodegradable, sustainable, and clean energy. It is critical to separate biodiesel from impurities by international standards. Membrane technology has yielded significant results in the separation of biodiesel. It is environmentally friendly and reduces water loss and scarcity. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
