Evidence continues to increase that antioxidants are an important factor in the progress and development of age-related macular degeneration. While zinc supplementation fits nicely in this thesis as a mineral co-factor of vital antioxidant enzymes, the clinical evidence for oral zinc supplementation is mixed and presently inconclusive. J.
