摘要
Paper mills use many types of biocide chemistries in their processes to control the growth of fungi, bacteria and algae, and also to preserve paper-making chemicals such as pigment slurries, starch solutions and coating formulations susceptible to degradation. Little information is available to the papermaker about how these complex mixtures of molecules affect papermaking chemistry and final paper properties. In this study, an extensive number of nonoxidizing biocides were studied for their impact on wet-end and surface sizing.
