摘要
A field experiment was carried out during 1993-94 and 1994-95 to assess the effect of varying dates of planting on the productivity and profitability of scented rice (Oryza sativa L.)-wheat (Triticum aestivum L. mend. Fiori & Paol.) cropping system. 'Taraori Basmati' recorded maximum mean grain yield (4.33 tonnes/ha), followed by 'Basmati 370' (4.23 tonnes/ha) under 1 July planting, while wheat variety 'WH 542' recorded highest mean grain yield (6.46 tonnes/ha), followed by 'PBW' 154' (4.41 tonnes/ha) under 25 November planting. The higher mean net returns of Rs 12,259/ha and Rs 13,966/ha and benefit : cost ratio of 1.88 and 1.99 were recorded with 1 July and 25 November plantings in scented rice and wheat respectively.
