摘要
This research aimed to determine the most active isolates and their Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of antibacterial activities of endophytic fungi from mangrove plants Rhizophora apiculata L. and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza L. (L.) Lamk. on Salmonella typhi. This research used a descriptive and exploratory method. Screening of endophytic microfungi isolates subjected to Salmonella typhi was conducted using disc diffusion method with a modified Kirby-Baueur. The result shows that seven isolates of microfungi have antibacterial activities. Penicillium sp.6 has the best activity with the highest inhibition zone 30 mm, while Penicillium sp.1 has 28 mm inhibition zone. The growth of Salmonella typhi was significantly affected by the crude extract of mangriove fungi at concentration 3.6 mg . mL(-1). The results show the effectiveness of microfungi extracts of Penicillium sp.6 and Penicillium sp.1 as an antibacterial agent on Salmonella typhi.
