摘要
It is clearly evident with changes occurring in power systems worldwide there is a need to make sure today's power engineering curriculum reflect these changes. These changes can be attributed to two sources: deregulation and information technology. Because of this, materials that incorporate basic elements of deregulation economics and information technology should be included in today's power engineering curriculum. This paper will address the incorporation of information technology into power engineering curriculum and present a curriculum used at Drexel University that embraces this form of educational delivery. With respect to deregulation economics, which is directly addressed in this paper, it may be argued that there exists a link with information technology: the awareness of a need for a well-thought out informational network structure and accompanying high quality information about power systems in a deregulated market structure.
