摘要
The rate of nucleation of a stable phase in a homogeneous metastable medium is computed within the context of particle tunneling through a modified cubic potential, bypassing the conventional thermodynamic approach. Comparison with the standard Becker-Doring results hints at good prospects for the present procedure. Some fundamental issues are raised regarding current approaches. (C) 1998 Academic Press
