ROOT QUALITY OF CHOSEN FODDER-BEET AND SUGAR-BEET VARIETIES IN ORGANIC FARMING

Six fodder beet varieties were compared in three-year experiments at ecological area in Praha-Uhrineves (in 2005 and 2006: Lenka, Hako, Kostelecka Barres, Jamon, Monro, Starmon, in 2007: Bucansky zluty valec site of Kostelecka Barres) and one sugar beet variety Merak (in 2005 and 2006). Percentage content of nitrogen substances, content of digestible nitrogen substances, lipids, pulp, crude ash, nonnitrogen extractive substances and starch value were detected in dry matter. In comparison of the varieties the highest content of nitrogen substances and content of digestible nitrogen substances had the variety Lenka. The higher percentage of nonnitrogen extractive substances was detected at the sugar beet variety Merak.
