摘要：

Somatic embryos derived from mature seed embryo callus cultures of rice were individually encapsulated in 3% sodium alginate with different gel matrices. Conversion of encapsulated embryos into plants was observed on White's medium (58-80%) and MS medium (25-80%), filter paper (50-83.3%) and cotton (33.3%). Encapsulated embryos germinated well into plantlets with better root and shoot systems compared to non-encapsulated embryos.
