Top mass, four texture zero mass matrices and phenomenology of CKM matrix elements

摘要
The four texture zero mass matrices have been investigated in the context of the latest data regarding m(t)(pole), V-CKM elements, angles of the unitarity triangle, etc. The present model, apart from accommodating m(t)(pole) = 175 +/- 15 GeV, is able to reproduce \V-cb\ = 0.038 +/- 0.003, \V-ub/V-cb\ = 0.08 +/- 0.02 and predicts \V-td\ to be in the range 0.005-0.012. Furthermore, the angles of the unitarity triangle, relating to the CP-violating asymmetries, have been predicted to be sin 2 beta approximate to 0.5 with sin 2 alpha taking two ranges, viz, 0.6 less than or equal to sin 2 alpha less than or equal to 1.0 and -1.0 less than or equal to sin 2 alpha - 0.1. The implications of V-td values on the CP-violating phase of V-CKM as well as some rare B decays have also been investigated.
