摘要
In this work we experimented the effect of rubber particles on the mechanical properties for the polymer composite material. A commercially available rubber particles was introduced into a carbon fiber and epoxy composite with the primary aim of enhancing the composites fracture toughness. The properties of the CFRP composite are mainly enhanced by varying the fiber volume fraction, orientation and so on. Carbon fiber reinforced polymer composite specimens used in this study were manufactured by compression moulding method. After trying the natural and carbon fiber + bio-degradable polymer combo, the carbon fiber + bio-degradable polymer formulation was investigated to examine the relationship between carbon fiber weight and tensile and flexural strength.
