摘要
Doped carbon blacks with P, B and N were prepared and tested as catalysts for the wet peroxide oxidation of phenol. N precursors allowed incorporating a higher amount of the doping element on the outermost surface. Phosphoric and boric acids as well as urea and pyridine yielded doped carbons with significantly high activity for the oxidation and mineralization of phenol and its aromatic intermediates. The kinetic model applied, scarcely reported on doped-carbons, showed reaction rate constants values up to eight times larger than those of the original carbon. This behavior was attributed to the more acidic character of doped-carbons.
