Photocatalytic degradation of toluene by nano TiO2/β-CD coated paper

摘要
The photocatalytic degradation of toluene by nano titanium dioxide (TiO2) and nano-TiO2/beta-cyclodextrin (P-CD) coated paper in a tightly closed device was studied. Under the irradiation of three LTV lamps (UVA, UVB, UVC, wavelengths in the range of 315-400nm, 280-315nm, 100-280nm respectively), these two sorts of coated papers showed some degrees of activities in photocatalytically degrading toluene gas and the rate of the photocatalytic degradation was in this order of UVC > UVB > UVA. Paper coated with nano-TiO2/beta-CD had a better effect on degradation than the paper coated with nano-TiO2 only. The lower the concentration of toluene gas was, the higher the degradation efficiency was. For the nano-TiO2/beta-CD coated paper, the degradation of toluene at the concentration of 0.292mg/L was almost 100%. after 6 hours under the radialization of UVC.
