摘要
The surface properties (equilibrium and kinetic studies) and adsorption characteristics of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) at the liquid-air interface were presented. The effects of hydrochloric acid and heavy metal ions addition on some surface properties of SDS were studied. The equilibrium surface tension and critical micelle concentration (CMC) were obtained. Moreover, the adsorption parameters were calculated using the Szyszkowski equation. The kinetics of SDS adsorption was examined, and the diffusion coefficients as well as the micellar dissociation constant were calculated. As it was found both hydrochloric acid and heavy metal ions decrease the CMC values in all presented cases. The dynamic surface tension of the systems under discussion decreases with the increasing time and the higher the decrease is, the higher the surfactant concentration is. The SDS adsorption is controlled by diffusion. The value of diffusion coefficients decreases with the increasing surfactant concentration. (C) 2019 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
