BiDi Wave Multiplexing Method Application Areas for Implementing High Speed Fiber-Optic Communication Lines of Data Centers

摘要
Efficiency of various data transmission methods at speeds of 10-400 Gbps in data center IT systems has been evaluated based on the criterion of how fully the capabilities of individual fiber couple are utilized. The feasibility of BiDi technology application in the speed range of 40-100 Gbps has been demonstrated. It has been found that using PAM-4 multilevel modulation format of the optical carrier helps preserve easy-to-operate two-fiber data path structure at 100 Gbps speed.
