摘要
Bis(10-phenyl-9-dianthryloxy)methane has been designed and synthesized to serve as an excimer fluorescence probe taking advantage of the remarkable flexibility of the chain linking the two aromatic rings. Spectroscopic study and transient kinetic analysis have been performed in media of various polarity and viscosity. The dual fluorescence (monomer/excimer) is markedly affected by the viscosity of a series of silicon oils (polydimethylsiloxanes).
