Titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) was pretreated by solution of HCl-H2O2, NH4F-H2O2, HNO3-H2O2 or H2SO4-H2O2. The pretreated samples were characterized by IR, XRD, UV-Vis, XRF and Al-27 MAS NMR and evaluated by epoxidation of propylene with H2O2. The results showed that almost all Na+ and about 20% of TiO2 are removed from TS-1 after pretreatment. The TiO2 removed from TS-1 is extra-framework titanium species. After pretreatment, the selectivity for PO decreases, and the utilization of H2O2 increases obviously. Concerning the utilization and the conversion of H2O2, the pretreatment method with NH4F-H2O2 is the best one.
