摘要
Purple passion fruit is one of the most important crops in Colombia, but unfortunately, viral diseases have started to affect its productivity. Five viruses are known to infect this crop in Colombia: Soybean mosaic virus (SMV), Cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus (CABMV), Passion fruit yellow mosaic virus (PFYMV), Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), and the tentative species Gulupa bacilliform virus A (GBVA). In addition, emerging diseases caused by begomoviruses were reported on other Passiflora species in Colombia. The incidence of these viruses in adult plants, plantlets, and seeds from southwestern Antioquia was investigated based on molecular approaches. PFYMV and GBVA scored the highest incidence (>90%). Sequence analyses of the partial genomes confirmed the presence of PFYMV, SMV and GBVA variants in purple passion fruit plants grown in commercial fields at Antioquia.
