Temperature and salinity anomalies in the upper layer of the Atlantic Ocean in subtropical and tropical latitudes in both of the Hemispheres are revealed from the data of oceanographic observations obtained during the Second Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition in February-May 1998. Distinguishable features of actual hydrophysical parameters are considered in the polar and Antarctic climatic zones. Significant deviations of thermohaline characteristics from the mean monthly values, intensification and latitudinal shifts of large-scale fronts and currents, and variation of ice condition are found.
