These arthroscopic alternatives to open procedures can be helpful for evaluating and treating common foot and ankle injuries. These techniques can also result in a shorter and more comfortable recovery. However, the surgeon must gain significant experience with open procedures and have a very good grasp of arthroscopic techniques in order to begin use of these advanced techniques. We look forward to developing further indications and uses of less-invasive techniques to assist the athlete and others in their recovery.
