摘要：
We review different structures for microwave and optical range containing 'left-handed' metamaterials - artificial composites with simultaneously negative effective permittivity and permeability. Special attention is dedicated to their fundamentals, design strategies and main applications which include subwavelength resonant cavities, superlenses, etc.
