摘要
A curvature sensor based on tapered triple cladding quartz specialty fiber (TTCQSF) is proposed. It is formed by a section of triple cladding quartz specialty fiber which is tapered after splicing both ends of it with single-mode fibers (SMFs). Then a SMF-TTCQSF-SMF structure is fabricated. The experimental results show that the curvature sensitivity is -6.52nm/m(-1) in the range of 0 similar to 1.293m(-1), and is -17.48dB/m(-1) in the range of 0.473 similar to 1.293m(-1). The sensor is small in size, simple in structure and easy to fabricate. So it will have a good application prospect in the fields of curvature measurement.
