摘要
Recent research in oxidation catalysis has focused on employing first-row metals with a lower environmental impact than their traditional counterparts. Iron is particularly suited for this task since the discovery of isolable non-heme iron(IV) complexes over a decade ago. This Letter summarizes the developments in the last decade for oxidation of organic substrates that proceed through iron(IV) intermediates. Eight separate oxidation reactions are reviewed.
