During a pandemic, different potential directions for urban development are suggested. The main objective of the research is based on the understanding and analysis of the current indications, the initial tendencies, which could indicate the future post-pandemic residential choices of urban dwellers. The analyses in this research have shown that one of the possibilities of future urban development is the intensification of the process of suburbanization and mass migration to smaller settlements with lower urban densities. The second possibility points to a changed composition of the existing urban fabric, supporting high population density, sustainable urban transformation and the digitization of cities, with an emphasis on teleworking. Telehealth, working synergistically, complementarily and in coordination with other socio-spatial measures, is an excellent tool to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic.
