摘要
The objective of this study is to compare costs and productivity in milk production between three production systems: the traditional system (grazing) and the confinement systems, called free stall and compost barn. The methodology used in the research is characterized as comparative case studies, descriptive in nature and qualitative data approach. The study of the cases occurred in three rural farms that produce milk, located in the west of Santa Catarina, one in the traditional management system (pasture in the form of pickets / grazing), one in the free stall system and another in the system Of semi containment (compost barn). Data collection took place from June to July 2017, with the completion of spreadsheets, containing data on fixed assets, sales revenue, production costs and productivity. From the analysis of the data, it was verified that the system free stall provides a slight margin of profit in the liter of milk produced, to the detriment of the other chains. It is worth noting that the quantity of milk produced by both the stall and compost barn system does not currently determine a difference in the quoted chains of a higher intake per liter, which may be due to the fact that production is not at its maximum capacity. It is concluded that the free stall management system provides a better economic result for dairy activity, but with a higher production structure than the other properties analyzed in this research.
