摘要
The solar wind, which is a tenuous ionised gas that carries with it magnetic fields reaching back into the solar atmosphere, is discussed. The wind flows at speeds ranging from a couple of hundred Km s-1 to 1000 Km s-1. The embedded magnetic field has a value of 5 nT. The speed of plasma wave, known as Alfvén waves is also about 40 Km s-1 at 1 AU. The density of this ionised gas at 1 AU is about 5 particles cm -3.
