Electrostatic Potential around a Charged Colloidal Particle in an Electrolyte Solution with Ion Strong Coupling

摘要
Using molecular dynamics simulations in which ions are explicitly treated as charged particles, we examined the electrostatic potential around a charged colloidal particle in an electrolyte solution for various situations including the ion strong coupling regime. The electrostatic potential computed from the simulation was compared with the solution of the Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) equation. We found that the electrostatic potential obtained from the simulation can be fitted to the solution of the PB equation if we adopt the surface potential of the colloidal particle and the normalization constants of the Boltzmann distribution function as fitting parameters.
